Hammerhead Shark Guards – Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

I had the chance to work on these Hammerhead Shark Guards during my time at MPC, where I was working as a Key Texture Artist on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

I was mainly responsible for the texturing of the full creature, with some additional work on the shading side. This was one of my first creature assignments in film, and also one of my first opportunities to work with Mari while integrating Substance into the texturing workflow for specific details and surface variation.

It was especially rewarding to see these creatures featured in several close-up shots in the final movie, including moments where the internal mouth details were clearly visible on screen.

As with every film production, this was a team effort, and the assets continued to evolve later in production after my involvement. I’m grateful to have contributed to the look and surface development of these creatures as part of the MPC team.
