During my time at MPC, I had the chance to contribute to Nope, directed by Jordan Peele, as part of the Character Lab team.
My work included the texturing and shading of Gordy’s clothing and blood effects, the texturing of Jean Jacket in both its closed and open forms, and some minor shading support on the creature.
I also worked on the winking inflatable cowboy figure featured in the final sequence of the film. The asset was recreated using reference photos of the real prop from set, although the available reference was limited, so part of the process involved visually matching the object as accurately as possible by eye.
This was my first feature film project, which made it a particularly meaningful experience. Working directly with the Character Lab Creature Supervisor was both challenging and extremely valuable, and gave me the opportunity to learn quickly while contributing to such a unique film.
This was, of course, a collaborative production effort, and I’m grateful to have contributed to these assets as part of the MPC team.
